Windsurfing: Hayling Island, poo bay Wind Direction: sw Wind Stength: Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: Max Speed: Distance Covered:
My first trip to esso beach at Hayling.
Rigged the 112 lt bic with a 6.3 sail perfect for whens things first
starting out.
I got caught out in the wind shadow of the island on the far side a couple
of times but nothing too serious.
The chop in the middle was good fun as it was the "right " direction for us
Brog sailors.
As the day went on the wind increased but it also seamed to get very cold,
too cold to bother rigging a smaller sail so just added a bit of
outhaul!
The remainder of the session full on over powered blasting, great fun! I
never regarded my bic as a fast board but no one was going past me.
I gave up just before 1 as it was getting really cold with the windchill
and the water was getting a bit shallow on the first bar, Im always a bit
nervous of shallow water after my contact with the bottom a few years ago
